Why do you love what you do?

As a realtor, I love helping people navigate one of the most significant decisions of their lives—buying or selling a home. It’s not just about the transaction; it’s about making a meaningful impact in people’s lives, whether that means finding their dream home or helping them sell their current home.

I love building genuine relationships and offering support, understanding that each client has unique needs, concerns, and dreams. The joy of seeing someone excited about a new home or relieved after a smooth sale is incredibly rewarding. It’s about being there every step of the way, guiding them with empathy, expertise, and trust. It’s a privilege to assist in such a personal and life-changing journey.

Ultimately, I love what I do because I can make a real difference in people’s lives while creating connections and trust that extend far beyond a single transaction.

What hobbies do you have and what do you do for fun?
I love exploring new places, cultures, and experiences. Especially while spending quality time with family and loved ones. The memories we can create together on these trips are priceless. I also love trying out new restaurants. My husband and I are on a quest to find our “go to” places. Lately we have been trying to visit the many supper clubs that Wisconsin has to offer. I love being a grandma to my one 2-year-old grandson. He is our pride and joy. We spend a lot of time talking about lawnmowers, firetrucks, school busses and singing songs.
What do you like most about living in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin is known for its beautiful landscapes like parks, lakes, and hiking trails, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. The four seasons make it possible for everyone to enjoy something. Winters are perfect for skiing and snowmobiling (although I am not a winter girl), while summers are great for outdoor festivals and visiting the many lakes and state parks. I am a cheese lover so being in Wisconsin is both a blessing and a curse! All the best cheeses, but oh the extra calories! My husband is a big sports fan and Wisconsin gives him many options from the Badgers, and Packers to the Brewers. Although I am not the biggest sports enthusiast, it’s nice to have pretty good teams here to support and cheer on. Wisconsin, compared to some other parts of the US, is relatively more affordable when it comes to housing, making it a great place to live.
What makes you proud to be a real estate agent?
A real estate transaction is often one of the biggest decisions in a person’s life. Whether I am helping a first-time homebuyer find their dream home or assisting in selling a family home, being part of those life-changing moments is incredibly rewarding. This process can be stressful, but my goal is to take that off the buyers or sellers’ shoulders and make it as seamless and stress free as possible. Real estate allows for building long-term connections with clients. Seeing their happiness when they achieve their goals that they have worked so hard for is such a joy! Being a real estate agent allows me to contribute to something meaningful, allows me to grow both personally and professionally, and leaves a lasting impact on people’s lives and the communities they live in. I love what I do!
What previous transaction meant a lot to you and why?
All of my previous transactions mean the world to me! I have to pinch myself when I think about all the clients that have trusted me to help with their home purchase or sale or have referred me to someone they know. I am beyond grateful for everyone that I have been on this journey with and those that I have yet to meet and take this journey with.
What are some mistakes to avoid as a home buyer?
As a homebuyer, there are several common mistakes you should avoid ensuring a smooth and successful purchase. Here are some key ones: Not Getting a Pre-Approval Knowing your budget that you should be shopping withing is important so that you don’t waste time searching for that home that is not achievable in your budget. Overextending Your Budget I always remind my clients that the goal is not to shop at the top of their budget even though they may be pre-approved for it. Taking all expenses into account is important to make a reasonable decision on a home purchase and for a comfortable lifestyle. Overextending your budget can cause stress and really change the lifestyle that you are accustomed to. You should ask yourself, are you comfortable giving up everything else to have this home and if the answer is no, then maybe it’s not the right one for you…finding the balance is important. Skipping the Home Inspection We have been in a tough market with a lot of competition. Many buyers choose to skip the home inspection leaving themselves open to possible defects and “finding” the issues down the road when they already own the home. There are ways to still have a home inspection and provide a strong offer that is still competitive in this market. As realtors we are always thinking outside the box to help you “win” the home, but still protect yourself in the process. It is always better to walk into something, eyes wide open with knowledge of any concerns, even if it’s something you will be fixing on your own after closing. Not Considering Long-Term Needs Make sure when you are shopping for a home that you are considering what may come in the next several years. Purchasing a home based on your current needs is great, but ignoring what may be to come can be costly. It is important to think ahead to your needs in the future to ensure you are in your perfect place for years to come. Ignoring Resale Value You should always keep in mind the resale of a home when purchasing. It may be suitable for you and your situation, but would it be a desirable home for someone else when you look at selling it. Keeping this in mind will make it easier when the time comes to sell the home. The last thing you want is a home that you are unable to sell or must put a lot of money into to make it a more desirable home for a larger crowd of people.
