Why do you love what you do?
I genuinely enjoy helping people. Being that conduit to help someone achieve home ownership is very rewarding.
What hobbies do you have and what do you do for fun?
I’m your typical Wisconsinite that enjoys all the bar sports. Bowling, shooting pool, throwing darts or bags. Need to fill a spot on your volleyball or softball team? I’m far from good but I’m always happy to play!
What do you like most about living in Wisconsin?
Can there be a more beautiful state? I love getting off the main highways and driving the country roads to see all of the amazing Wisconsin landscape.
What makes you proud to be a real estate agent?
Knowing that I helped a buyer make the leap to home ownership.
Give an example of how you helped save a deal as a buyer’s agent that might normally have fallen through.
There are often transactions in which a buyer’s lender is difficult to work with and agents must scramble to save the deal. I have gotten buyers connected with another lender and get it moving forward. I have also had to get repairs done quickly in order to satisfy an underwriter. Having a network of contractors who can help on short notice has saved many deals for me.
Give an example of a deal that a buyer was able to get out of because of how you drafted the offer.
There have been several instances that this has occurred but none stand out. It is imperative to clearly understand a buyer’s needs when writing a contract and being sure those needs are concisely conveyed in the contract.
What previous transaction meant a lot to you and why?
I’ve helped so many young couples get into their first home but one that stands out is a couple that were trying to buy right before the pandemic started. The market was crazy and we kept offering on homes and we would always lose out. We talked one day about options, pivoted a bit on what locations work for them, and wound up getting them into a brand new home for roughly the same price as an existing home. They have since gotten married and started a family in that new home.
What are some mistakes to avoid as a home buyer?
The biggest mistake buyers make is when they don’t communicate with their agent.
