Hello! My name is Taylor Dickert, I recently joined Rock Realty and I am extremely excited to be a part of the team. I was born and raised in the Madison/Middleton area of Wisconsin, and I grew up playing sports including hockey, baseball, and football. I have been a part of teams my whole life, so I know what it takes to be successful in a team-oriented setting like we have here at Rock Realty. Why do you love what you do?
I love being in real estate because I get to help people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives, buying a home. Specifically, the sense of joy and relief I get to see on my buyers faces once we finally get to the closing table. They get the keys to their new home passed to them and it just genuinely makes me happy to see.
What hobbies do you have and what do you do for fun?
My hobbies include golfing, playing hockey, and playing cards. For fun, I like to go to all sorts of sporting events since I grew up playing almost all of them.
What do you like most about living in Wisconsin?
What I like most about living in Wisconsin is just the beauty of the state. From summer to winter, wherever you go, it’s just a beautiful state.
What makes you proud to be a real estate agent?
What makes me proud to be a real estate agent is that I just get to help people through the whole buying and selling process so I strive to do the best job possible.
Give an example of how you helped save a deal as a buyer’s agent that might normally have fallen through.
In my very first deal as an agent, a seller of mine needed to sell her condo to be able to purchase her new home. I was able to work with my brother, who is also an agent in the same firm, and he had a listing that was absolutely perfect for her. I ended up reaching out to my brother just in time to do an off market deal, which would not have been possible otherwise.
Give an example of a deal that a buyer was able to get out of because of how you drafted the offer.
I’ve never had a buyer want out of a deal.
What previous transaction meant a lot to you and why?
I had a transaction in June, 2024, where my buyers had little ones looking for the perfect home to raise their children in. After a lot of showings, we finally found that perfect home and my buyers were so greatful to how everything worked out. On top of that, the sellers got very emotional that they were able to sell the home they had lived in for almost all their lives to a new family who will continue to make great memories inside its walls.
What are some mistakes to avoid as a home buyer?
One mistake that sticks out to me would be to not get pre approved immediately when you’re getting ready to buy. This is because it’s essential in this market today to have that pre approval at the ready so we can submit an offer ASAP instead of then having to wait to get that pre approval.
